Cat's Name: Aurastar
Clan: ShadowClan
Age: 27 moons
Gender: Female
Rank: Leader
Description: Aurastar is a long-furred, somewhat frightening-looking she-cat. She is strikingly beautiful, but her cold, icy blue stare keeps all but the very bravest toms at a distance. She is fairly large, with a long tail, and her pitch-black pelt is thick and soft. Aurastar takes great pride in her appearance, and always makes sure she is immaculately groomed at all times. No cat in any of the clans has ever seen her look raggedy, not even after a battle, though how she keeps herself looking nice after those is a total mystery.
Personality: Aurastar is a bit of an enigma to those around her. She is cunning, sly, mysterious, and a bit on the ruthless side: the perfect model of a ShadowClan cat. She's sarcastic to a fault, and is a brilliant battle tactician. She's a fair leader, and always makes sure to see both sides of a story before making decisions. She tends to be rather apathetic about fights among the clan members as long as the fights don't bother the warriors' normal duties, anyway, so she finds being fair very easy.
Secretly, the she-cat is a bit lonely, as her icy demeanor scares off many other cats. She wishes that some cat would try to get closer, but is also a bit afraid to get too close to others. So instead, she remains aloof.
Family: Mother: Vixentail (elder)
Father: Marshclaw (deceased)
Siblings: Toadheart; brother
Sunpaw; sister (deceased)
History: Aurakit, Toadkit, and Sunkit were born to the warriors Vixentail and Marshclaw of ShadowClan. The three siblings were never very close, and their personalities differed greatly. Aurakit was very secretive and quiet, and skilled in manipulating others. Toadkit was strong and quick, but a bit dim-witted. Sunkit was small, kind, and friendly, with a quick tongue and a specialty for giving speeches, not to mention a good head for herbs.
As apprentices, the three siblings grew even further and further apart. Aurapaw, still secretive but clearly a brilliant warrior-in-training, learned very quickly. It became clear early on that her greatest strengths were her ability to get others to listen to her and do what she wanted, and her courage and ferocity in battle. Her brother Toadpaw was an equally skilled fighter, though he wasn't nearly as cunning. Sunpaw was apprenticed to the medicine cat, and was soon heard of as being a brilliant medicine cat. Unfortunately, it was all for naught, as in their sixth moon of apprenticeship, Sunpaw was killed by a rogue dog wandering through ShadowClan territory.
Several moons later, both Aurapaw and Toadpaw were given their warrior names: Auraclaw and Toadheart. Toadheart was content with his position as warrior, and continued to serve his clan valiantly. However, Auraclaw was much more ambitious than her brother. She volunteered as often as possible to do whatever the leader wanted, and showed off her leadership skills whenever she could. This was all for one reason: the deputy at the time was nearing retirement, and Auraclaw knew that a new deputy would soon need to be chosen.
All that hard work paid off. A few moons later, the deputy retired, and Auraclaw, though a very young warrior, was chosen as his replacement. She continued to work dutifully for her clan, gaining the respect and, occasionally, the fear of her clanmates, as well as cats from other clans.
It was only two moons ago that the previous leader's last life was taken in a battle against ThunderClan. Since then, Aurastar has been establishing herself as the ShadowClan leader.
Roleplay Sample: I suppose I ought to be fair and give one of these, huh? (I hope it's okay that I used an old one)
Silentwind couldn't help but tease his apprentice slightly. "Hmm, sounds like a name to me. Oh, I see, a little friend from your loner days? A crush, perhaps?" He chuckled to himself lightly, and shook his head.
"Excuse me? I got a new apprentice plenty fast, thank you, and you should consider yourself lucky to have gotten me as a mentor instead of the cat who mentored me. You'd be in the stream even if it was dead winter for a crack like that," he informed her solemnly.
Cottonpaw got back into the crouch, this time her weight mostly on her back legs. Silentwind studied her unmovingly for a while, then swept a forepaw under her front legs. This time, instead of tumbling into the river, the young she-cat involuntarily rocked back on her haunches, but kept her grip on the rock. One of Silentwind's rare and shocking smiles spread across his face as he saw how quickly his new apprentice had grasped the concept.
"Excellent! Perfect weight distribution! Very good; you're obviously a very quick learner. You can come out the crouch now, I've seen enough for today of that," he told her, still smiling. He was certainly very pleased indeed.
"Hmm, well, I had us come out here early because I didn't think you would get the crouch right so quickly. So, we've got a lot of time on our paws. What would you like to do? Fish? Practice your crouch some more? Maybe some battle training?" he shrugged. Her choice of training was her prize, he figured, for getting done so quickly.
"By the way, sorry about the river thing. It's a little trick my mentor taught me to get apprentices to ask how to do things before they tried to do them on their own," he explained.
