The thin form of the warrior slipped out of the nursery, a small 'train' of kits following behind her. Did she have kits of her own? Oh, no. These were just some of the kits from one of the queens who had needed some fresh air. The bi-colored she-cat purred in delight as the three kittens instantly began playing the usual game of 'Riverclan VS ____'. They always seemed to change the clan they were against, but it was usually Shadowclan. The reason was obvious, so it wasn't needed to be explained in this post.
Sun orange eyes watched the playing kits as Sunrise made herself comfortable in the shade. She always enjoyed watching the kits. They reminded her of what she and her brothers use to be like, even if Russetcloud was already an apprentice when Koistream and herself were born. Her orange tail flicked back and forth on the ground to an unknown rhythem as she watched, equally orange ears perked to pick up any sound of distress from the kits. A small, content smile curled the ends of her lips upward. A nice, calm day plus watching the kits? It equals the perfect day for this she-cat. No worries of border patrols, hunger--not that Riverclan ever went hungry, unless the river and lake froze over--and no troublesome toms. Yet, that is...

Falconshadow walked to the fresh-kill pile, depositing the fish he had recently caught carefully. It had been a long, hard day, and he looked around the camp for a more relaxing task to do. He was far too faithful to just rest and take a nap and just when he thought he was going to have to go back out to hunt again, he spotted a beautiful ginger and white she-cat watching after a load of kits.
He knew Sunrise could probably take care of the kits on her own, but the she-cat was one of the few who didn't seem to stalk him and Honeyeyes and Foxbite were nowhere around. He made his way over to the ginger warrior, dark pelt gleaming in the sunlight and muscles rippling under his pelt. "Sunrise, would you like some help?"" He mewed as he sat a polite distance away with his tail curled neatly around his paws. Some she-cats got a bit antsy when a tom got into their personal space or insinuated that they needed help and he was nothing if not a gentleman. Foxbite would live up to her name if he was ever rude.

Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly as one of the kits tried to pounce on another too harshly, but she didn't move to scold them. The other kit had easily dodged and was already trying to pin the offending kit down. Letting out a soft sigh, the bi-colored she-cat shifted her position to where one front paw was tucked under her body and the other was out in front of her. She was about to speak up in order to stop the kits for a few moments, seeing how their little game of war was straying from the area around the nursery, but a voice left her mouth hanging open without any words coming out. Quickly closing her mouth, her orange eyes locked on the owner of the voice.
Falconshadow? Now, what would he be doing here? Normally he was surrounded by she-cats, especially the pair of sisters who almost stuck to him like glue. Sunrise didn't speak up for a few short moments, her mind slowly processing that she should reply. "I wouldn't mind your help, Falconshadow." Three kits were a handful, though these three seemed worse than ever. Did they stumble upon sugar or something? Her eyes darted over to the trio of kittens. "Boys, don't stray too far from here!" Oh, yeah, it was worse when the kits were all toms. The three looked up from their game, groaning slightly, before reluctantly moving back over near the nursery.
Sunrise sighed, chuckling softly to herself. "Kits..." She mumbled under her breath. She loved them to death, but they had their moments of pure annoyance. Maybe she should ask what their mother gave them later. Turning her attention back to the older warrior, she spoke once more to him. "Where are your 'sisters'?"

Falconshadow watched the kits in amusement, sitting a couple mouth-legnths closer to the other warrior. It would seem she did need a little help with these three troublemakers. He chuckled softly under his breathe as he watched them, thinking that perhaps he wouldn't mind having a few of his own someday.
He tilted his head to glance at Sunrise out of the corner of his eye, purring softly at the mention of his "sisters". "I believe Honeyeyes is on a border patrol and Foxbite is out terrorizing Blizzardstorm," He mewed with a soft snort. The fiery red she-cat had attempted to convince him to tag along, but there was no reason to give the large tom any more reason to hate him, although he'd given up making a truce with him. He'd never understand that cat, not as long as he lived.
His eyes narrowed slightly as he saw the kits deliberately disobey Sunrise. He straightened up and looked at them with stern yellow eyes. "Ya know," he mewed nonchalantly, but his voice was strong, "Kits who disobey warriors never become good warriors themselves." The kits immediately froze, looking at the older warrior with wide eyes before bounding over to him with proclamations of "We'll be good, we promise!" The tom's eyes softened with warmth and pride as the three kits sat in a straight line in front of him, the future of RiverClan. "I'll tell you what," he started off, "If you three can take me down, I'll give you a battle move to practice." He barely finished before he was tackled in a flurry of soft pelts and sheathed paws, allowing himself to fall to the ground dramatically.

Sunrise blinked, ears perking at the tom's tone. She watched as the kits instantly changed their actions, the whole sight of it making her giggle. The younger warrior continued watching until the dark tabby tom was being attacked by a mod of different colored fur. She chuckled, standing up to go an help the poor warrior. "All right, you three, get off old Falconshadow before you kill him." The kits continued their attack, causing Sunrise to scoff. "Get off or he will not be able to train you." That got the kittens to--oh so slowly--climb off the tom.
The bi-colored she-cat smiled, flicking her tail back and forth as the kits began to prance around them. "Who would have though the clan 'heartbreaker' would be good with kits?" Sunrise let out an amused purr, lifting a white paw and placing it on one of the kit's heads, causing the kit to stop in his tracks. Thus earning a mewl of protest. She bent her head down, whispering into the ear of the young kit. "Quiet down or you will miss the wonderful battle move." That silenced the kit, allowing her to remove her paw from his head.

Falconshadow purred as he got up, shaking his slightly shaggy fur of grass and dust like a dog stepping out of a stream. His ears burned hot with embarrassment and he cringed slightly at the heartbreaker title. As polite a cat as Falconshadow was, he wasn't going to take a cat as his mate just to save their feelings. He knew the ginger and white she-cat didn't mean it in a bad way, but it still was a bad reminder of something he really couldn't help. He never purposely made the cats fall for him, after all. Foxbite was particularly fond of the title and he was rarely sure his beloved little sister had spread the rumor around. He made a mental note to shove her into the river next time they went hunting.
Noticing that the kits were getting restless, he raised his voice, "Okay, future RiverClan warriors. This is a good move to use against a mangy ShadowClan cat." The kits wriggled around him, eyes wide with excitement. It was really only the basic beginning of the move he had perfected, but the kits would learn that when they were older. He flicked his tail towards a reed, his choice of a ShadowClan warrior and carefully showed the kit how to raise up on their hind paws and bat at the reed. Even he was generally bigger and better fed than most ShadowClan warriors, and though he generally used his speed, he always started off this move with strength. He laid down next to Sunrise, watching the kits with interest. "That ought to keep them busy for a little while, at least," He mewed.

The she-cat took note of the cringe from the older tom. Hm, maybe she shouldn't have referred to him as the 'clan heartbreaker', no matter how true it may seem. Of course, the she-cats she had seen leaving him didn't look like kicked puppies, just embarrassed, probably from knowing that their feelings would never be returned. Sunrise sighed, slowly lowering her body so she could lay down once more. She watched intently as the kits attemted to imitate the battle move. "That poor reed..." She mumbled to herself, shaking her head with a soft chuckle.
Her head turned to look at the tom, a smile curling her lips up once more. "How did you become so good with kits?" A simple question, and she actually wanted to know. Most warriors may seem like they are good with kits, but they really just thought of them as nuisances. Which they kind of were, but who could resist the large, round kitten eyes? They just made your heart melt! Sunrise twitched her tail, awaiting an answer.

Falconshadow gave a his shoulder a roll, in his own type of shrug. "Three ways, really. I first learned how to deal with them from dealing with Foxbite and Honeyeyes as kits. I was more of a solemn warrior than a playful kit so I had to adapt quickly. Then there's the fact that I'm merely very observant of my surroundings and have noticed the she-cats dealing with kits. I decided it was something I better commit to memory, since they are the future of our clan," he paused here to shoot the kits a rather proud and warm look, nodding at the smallest one encouragingly as he looked uncertainly at the reed.
The last part came out in more of an embarrassed mumble. "Besides, if you haven't noticed, many of my friends are she-cats. If I didn't develop some sort of fondness for kits, I wouldn't survived long." His mew was slightly joking, but part of it was true. Foxbite would certainly have his tail if he ever even let out an annoyed hiss at a kit.

Sunrise let out a long purr in amusement. She wouldn't be surprised if one of the tom's 'sisters' got on to him for not knowing how to deal with kits, even after him dealing with them as an apprentice. Hm... She herself was just a kit, only a moon old, when Falconshadow had become an apprentice. "You know, when you spent so much time with Honeyeyes and Foxbite while they were kits, I almost thought you yourself were just a large kit." The bi-colored she-cat let out a nervous laugh at her own stupidity back when she was kit. Then again, Koistream wasn't too bright when they were that young as well.
Sun orange eyes locked back on the trio of tom kits. The three were still at attacking that poor piece of reed. There were claw marks in it and everything. At least the kits were wearing out before their mother got back. Her ears perked as she picked up the last, mumbled part of what Falconshadow was saying. "I have noticed, but I didn't pay too much attention to the amount of she-cats you have befriended." More like they throw themselves at him, but she didn't want to upset the tom or anything by adding that.

Falconshadow laughed, a rather pleasant sound. "I'll take that as a compliment. I was a weird little kit, if I could even be considered a kit. None of the other kits or apprentices liked me very much before Honeyeyes and Foxbite came around and helped me learn to be a kit," He mewed, obvious affection for the two she-cats in his voice. It took a lot to earn that kind of love and loyalty from the dark tabby tom. He was always kind and faithful with his clanmates, but only certain cats could earn his friendship the way Honeyeyes and Foxbite had.
Hearing her next mew, he began where his last train of thought left out. He knew what the she-cat was thinking. She didn't have to say it, it was fairly obvious. "Yes, well, when they start hanging around me, I never turn them away. But after they start there rather... clingy... tendencies, try to get rid of my sisters, and act like moonstruck rabbits, I turn them down and they don't usually want to be friends with me anymore. They either leave me alone or get even more determined. And I don't want just any she-cat as my mate." His eyes were more serious towards the end. He kept one bright yellow eye on the she-cat and the other on the kits.
OOC: Agreed.

Take it as a compliment? Ha! She never thought he would take it that way. Most toms would probably had been all 'what? No! Can't you tell I'm a strong apprentice!' And then they would start acting all egocentric and such. At least, that was what she had heard. She never got the courage to ask an apprentice that while she was still a kit. Then her parents were murdered, and the thought never crossed her mind again. The bi-colored she-cat listened to the tom, tilting her head to one side at the end. Clingy tendencies? That much she had observed...
"Well, then, what kind of cat is the she-cat you are looking for?" Another simple question, kind of like those 'what is your type' questions female twolegs would ask eachother for gossip and all that. Not that she would know. Oh, Starclan, no. That was just her roleplayer talking, so just ignore it. Ahem, anyway... A small smile formed on her lips again. "I might be able to help you find her." Now she was going to try and play Cupid, great!

Most toms would of been embarrassed by this question and avoided it completely, but Falconshadow had had this conversation so many times with Foxbite, never with Honeyeyes around, of course, that the words came out automatically. He was still young, but old enough that it was about time he found a mate. "Well, she'd obviously have to be good with kits, because i certainly want some. She would have to be helpful to the clan, and a bit mellow, but I wouldn't want her to be completely calm. She'd have to have fire in her but not the mean kind where she's challenging every cat who looks at her funny. I wouldn't mind protecting her at all, and probably would be a bit protective, but I want her to have a mind of her own and be able to defend herself properly. And of course, she must be a loyal RiverClan cat," he finished with a satisfied look.
Falconshadow had no clue he was describing Sunrise, of course. He had only briefly talked to her a few times before this and he wasn't that observant. He watched, curious as to if she knew a cat who matched that description.

Sunrise blinked, absorbing the new information like a sponge to water. Once he finished, a look of thought crossed her face, and it didn't leave for quite some time. Either she was going through a list of Riverclan she-cats, or she was trying to figure out how the soul works. We'll go with the list of she-cats. After a few moments of thinking, she finally blinked once more, focusing back on Falconshadow. "Well, [insert name here] is calm, but she might be too calm for your tastes... [insert name here] has a sort of 'fire' to her, but it is not the kind of 'fire' you were describing..."
Her face scrunched up slightly as she thought, and she brought a paw up to swipe at her face. Thinking was too much work. At least it burned calories. Wait, she wasn't worried about calories, unlike the twolegs. You would think that she would have pieced together the description with herself, but she was a bit oblivious to that fact right now. "Hm, well... I might have to start observing the clan she-cats more... Sticking to my brothers doesn't help." She glanced at the tom before focusing back on the kits. Sunrise chuckled at the sight of them giving up on the reed and plopping down to rest. She spared another glance at the dark tabby tom. "I'll have to get back to you on the she-cats later." The bi-colored she-cat smiled once more.

"Well, its a very kind offer, but you don't have to do that," He purred. He was a bit surprised that the she-cat had offered him that after such a short time and hadn't taken advantage of him confiding in her. Perhaps, he could actually be friends with her without any worries. He glanced at the kits, and got to his paws, stretching his long body with a slight yawn. He was well-rested again, and ready to get back to his other clan duties. His dark pelt felt hot from lying in the sun too long, and fishing sounded like just the cure.
"I'm not really too worried about finding a mate right now, as nice as it would be. I'll find her when I find her, and between now and then, i have plenty of other things to do," He admited padding over to where the sleepy kits looked like they were going to trip over their own paws. "When their mother gets back, would you like to come fishing with me?" He offered, nosing one of the kits towards their nest gently.

Orange eyes locked on the worn out kits, a small chuckle coming from the she-cat. Well, she had done what she was suppose to--wear the kits out for their mother. Well, it was more like Falconshadow did the trick, but... She had supervised! Pfft, it's not like she was going to take credit or anything. The queens rarely even asked what the did, only if they had behaved. Her eyes flicked over to the tom, listening as he spoke.
Fishing? Well, that sounded like a good idea to her. She was about to say something, but a familiar scent wafted into the clearing. Her head turned to the entrance, watching as the queen who had taken a walk came back and made a beeline for her kits. The queen thanked both of them before ushering her tired kits back into the nursery. "Well... How about that fishing?" Sunrise turned her attention back to Falconshadow, a smile on her face.
